Wonder Woman Has Been Cast and AnnaMay called it! (Are the studios listening?)

For years we have been discussing who we thought could take on the role of Wonder Woman if a movie or TV series ever made it to completion. AnnaMay has held firmly to her number one choice and today we found out that she made the right call! Adrianne Palicki has been confirmed as the new Wonder Woman and we could not be happier!

Maybe the studios are listening! Ever since we saw her as the fake Kara in Smallville we knew she could handle the role and Geek World can't wait to see how she does.  Great choice NBC!

Geek World Casts Death Note

Last week when we decided to make the topic of this week's show about live action movie adaptations of animes we knew we had to let the world know who we would cast in an American live action Death Note movie. When we were recording the show on Tuesday we never expected to see the news that things were moving forward in Hollywood, Thursday came, our show aired, and we learned that Warner Bros. hired Shane Black to direct Death Note! Get Ready for Heavy Rain at the Box Office!

There's been rumors for a while about a movie adaptation of this year's noir video game splash Heavy Rain, according to Deadline.com it's close to being a reality:

An auction of screen rights for the PlayStation3 game Heavy Rain is coming to a close. I'm told a deal is near with Unique Features, the film shingle started by Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne after they exited New Line.

Using their own money, Shaye and Lynne posted top bid in an auction held by CAA on behalf of game developers Quantic Dream.

Unique has a first look deal with Warner Bros, but Shaye liked it enough to use his own money and not wait for approval to buy it. A deal should be sealed shortly.

We're all for it, we loved the game and visually and tonally it's very much an homage to serial killer films, especially Se7en.
