Hayley Atwell has been cast as Captain America's love interest Peggy Carter in The First Avenger: Captain America.
Marvel Studios announced today that Hayley Atwell has been cast to star as Peggy Carter in the studio’s highly anticipated movie CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER opposite Chris Evans. In the early comics, Peggy Carter fell in love with Captain America while they fought together in the war effort. The character will be updated for the feature adaptation.
Hayley Atwell is a British actress who played Lucy in The Prisoner remake, and has also been featured in movies like The Duchess and The Brideshead Revisited. I've never seen her act, but my sources say she's more than perfect for the role. My sources, of course, are my eyeballs.
