Pour Yourself a Caucasian Russian, the DUDE Abides...If the Cohen's Want Big Lebowski 2!
PICTURE PROPERTY OF MERCURY RECORDS
Digital Spy did an interview with Oscar nominated Jeff Bridges where he said he'd play the DUDE again if the Coen's ever wanted to make a Big Lebowski sequel.
"I'm working with the Coens in March, we're doing True Grit. If they're up for a Lebowski 2 it'd be great to get all the guys together again and do that."
Now I'm assuming this will never happen considering the Coen's have never made a sequel to any of their films, and though Lebowski made a profit at the box office and became a cult hit, it wasn't the movie your special lady friend forced you to go see. That being said "Nobody f***'s with the Jesus! WE CAN ALWAYS DREAM! Dream about Creedence Clearwater and Nihilists and Saddam Hussein... and LOGJAMMIN!
SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FIND A STRANGER IN THE ALPS!!!!
p.s. It's ok if Tara Reid doesn't reprise her role as Bunny Lebowski...I'll just fix my cable and watch her in American Pie

TEKKEN PHOTOS!!!!!

So this movie's been in the works for a while, and it's got our buddy Luke Goss in it (hey we interviewed him, therefore, our buddy!) and it's based on one of my favorite video games so if nothing else I'm liking that the costumes look a lot like their video game counterparts. The trailer is out, I can't watch it yet, I'm afraid it will come off cheesy, so until I do I will enjoy these pictures Comingsoon put up. I mean it can't be worse than Legend of Chun-Li...right?...RIGHT????

Olympic Geekiness: Figure Skating Edition
Tuesday night Geek World was watching the Male Figure Skating competition (hey don't judge us man!) and one of the Japanese skaters, Nobunari Oda (2009 Japanese Champion), according to the NBC commentator is "the 17th descendant of Nobunaga Oda... the famous Japanese Warlord, 1534-1582 in the age of the Japanese Civil War... inspiration for the Super Nintendo video game series Nobunaga's Ambition." First off, nice geeksearch NBC, secondly, it's just kinda awesome!

SUPERNATURAL AND VAMPIRE DIARIES EARLY PICKUP! WHAT ABOUT SMALLVILLE???
Original Supernatural photo property of the CW
We at Geek World have been huge fans of Supernatural for a few years now and we've been pleasantly surprised how good Vampire Diaries (CW's highest rated show) has been in the midst of a cultural vampire overload!!!! So we're happy for the renewals, but what's going to happen with Supernatural? I remember reading an EW article a few months ago where show creator Eric Kripke said he had only planned out a 5 season story arc, and that he wasn't interested in doing the show after that, and at the same time both Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles were also not looking forward to another season!
We'll luckily for all the fans out there, the CW will not be repeating the ghosts of Angel past, and are in fact going to renew the show during it's 5th season when it's getting it's best ratings ever.
According to this Eric Kripke will be stepping down as show runner with Ex. Producer Sera Gamble taking over for the next season, but apparently Kripke isn't leaving the show all together, he will continue as an Executive Producer. Padalecki and Ackles are also on board, which is good because you can't just recast them, like when the Dukes of Hazzard were replaced.
I'm ok with Kripke going as long as his promise of "working closely with Sera" is a reality. I like to believe Kripke's mind for continuity and story telling is why the show is so good in a season when most shows are dwindling in ratings. Supernatural has some of the best writers on TV, non-dilusional people who realize you really can't go bigger than Lucifer and the Apocolypse, therefore season 6 will be smaller in scope, back to the basics of the brothers driving around killing monsters. Best of all, writer Ben Edlund (the Tick, Angel) can "be funny again."
It seems likely Smallville will get at least one more season considering how well it does on Fridays (2.5 million), and also the show sells big in syndication and foreign broadcasts, so it seems like the question isn't if it is coming back, but whether they want to announce the next season, their 10th season, as their last.

All I know is I'll watch anything with Erica Durance in it, that's right, even Butterfly Effect 2... I have no shame!!!

GW A: Is there anything else that you would like to tell people about District 13: Ultimatum or just about Parkour or anything else you are currently working on?
DB: Well I think there's a chance that there might be a sequel to District 13 in the United States.GW A: Nice!
GW D: Oh, really? Oh that could be amazing, is there anything you can tell us about that? That's big, we had no idea.
DB: Well I can't tell you much more I can just say that the project is underway and it will arrive soon.GW D: That is great. That definitely makes us very happy and I'm sure many other people in our geek world.
DB: I think this would be a co-production between the United States and France and there would be an American star who would play the role of the policeman.GW A: Oh neat.
GW D: Oh wow. I just have to ask, do you guys already have some ideas of certain cities or monuments that we might see some Parkour action on?
DB: I can't go that far because we still haven't done the scouting of locations yet but in any case you know your cities better than I do and the scenes will be shot in the cities that are most appropriate for the spirit of District 13 wherever they may be.GW D: Oh, that's great.
DB: What do you think of Boston?
