The Geek World Casting Award Goes To... Human Target!!!
One of the new shows that WE LOVE!!! this year is Human Target. Not only does it have an outstanding leading cast of Mark Valley (Fringe, The 4400), Chi McBride (Pushing Daisies, House M.D.), and Rorschach himself Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen, Nightmare on Elm Street's new Freddy Krueger), but the geektastic guest stars on every episode give Chuck and The Big Bang Theory a run for their money. WE LOVE SPEED RACER!!!
Image Property of Warner Bros.
So Speed Racer, the Wachowski's totally misunderstood ode to the classic anime, is on TV and we just need to say, WE LOVE SPEED RACER!!!!! We saw it opening night on IMAX and it was one of the most exhilarating movie experiences we've ever had!! We still have a beef with EW for their completely ignorant and misinformed review (though they weren't the only one's who hated it), but luckily they just pissed us off with their terrible and also horrendously misinformed Alice and Wonderland review, so at least they're consistent (Though EW to us is like Megan Fox, even if you don't like her personality, if there's a new picture of her somewhere we'll check it out! and ogle...a lot).
Speed Racer is one of those interesting examples of a terrible trailer campaign mixed with jaded reviewers who didn't understand the source material or that it was a kid's movie, giving it such terrible scores, that no one went to see it. All that being said, pretty much everyone we've ever talked to who saw it, generally LOVED it. Wait, fun at the movies? What's that all about?
Flipping cars! Awesome directing! Live-action anime! Christina Ricci (HOT) and Emile Hirsch! Chim Chim! GO SPEED RACER GO!!!!!!!

Muse Takes the Tardis for a Joy Ride!
Have you heard the Muse song Uprising?
Geek World thinks maybe they were inspired by an adventure in the Tardis because the beginning of the song sounds almost exactly like the Doctor Who theme!
I'd be less suspicious if the working title of their next project wasn't "The Resistance against the Black Holes created by the Daleks and Cybermen to reach an Absolution to the Time War"
The Traditional Arcade Gets A Next-Gen Makeover
We were at the Howard Hughes Center (Wave of the Future! Wave of the Future!), in Culver City and we were very confused by the new business next to the IMAX. Powersurge? What's that? We like video fun and fitness, maybe this is something we should investigate further! We went in and realized that the OG arcade is getting a reboot! Gone is the stank and the sticky quarter slots, now it's a clean place with large screen plasmas and X-Boxes !!!!! (and Wii's) Seems pretty cool, we grew up at a time when kids still went to arcades, so the idea of physical social interaction making a comeback seems great! Unfortunately this revitalization of the arcade might be too late for us, much like The Tick's Bi-Polar Bear, "I just can't seem to get out of bed this month!"

HEAVY RAIN'S SCOTT SHELBY IS REAL!!!!!!
If you've played Heavy Rain, watch this and prepare to freak out!
If you haven't played Heavy Rain, buy it, play it, then watch this, and freak out!
Sam Douglas is the voice and face of Scott Shelby, and has been in a ton of awesome movies like Batman (1989), The Fifth Element and Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (This is a great movie!!). Just goes to show how good scanning technology has gotten for videogames!
Did they get his wardrobe from Derailed for Heavy Rain?
Thanks to special correspondent Stupid Sister for the link!
